Linguistic characteristics

The verb dala- /daliye/a- in line 9´ (‘to let, leave, let in peace, let alone’) probably belongs to the oracular question (see also the content of the previous line, the first in this paragraph, which refers to the Zawalli deities). Given the semantics of the verb, and the fact that the terminology is not typical of bird oracles, it is less likely that this line pertains to the flight description; thus, it is not to be understood as a reference to birds released for the purpose of oracular observation.
