Fragment with bird oracles concerning goddesses of various towns

introductio

Short description

This small fragment contains portions of three bird oracle entries. In two of them, the first line mentions Ḫebat of Katapa (kolon 3) and Ištar of Nineveh (k. 9). The oracle reports themselves are largely lost.

Based on this content, it is possible that the text included a series of inquiries concerning multiple deities (all goddesses?) from various localities. However, the exact nature of these inquiries is difficult to determine, as the preserved text includes only the names of the goddesses but provides no information about the reasons behind the oracular inquiry.
